Middlesex County Jail

The Middlesex County Jail (officially "Adult Correction Center") is located at the corner of Route 130 and Apple Orchard Lane, North Brunswick, New Jersey. The mailing address is Middlesex County Department of Corrections, P.O. Box 266, New Brunswick, New Jersey 08903-0266. The phone number is (732) 297-3636. The current Warden is Edmond C. Cicchi, while the Freeholder Liaison is Ronald G. Rios.

Middlesex County was officially established in 1683, and Samuel Moore was appointed as its Sheriff and was given executive power over the jail. The Sheriff's Office has been in operation continuously since that date, although some of its functions have changed over time.

The current facility was constructed in 1984 in North Brunswick. The facility has received recognition as a leader in jail management and over the years has been visited by jail administrators from around the country and the world. The average daily population is between 1,100 and 1,200 inmates.

Visiting days are Wednesdays through Sundays.

One of the following forms of identification is required to be presented by visitors: a current Drivers License, State ID, County ID issued by the County Clerk (not a Welfare ID), Military ID, or a current Passport. If the passport is issued from another country, it must be accompanied by a valid visa or temporary/permanent resident card.

Visiting is scheduled by the first initial of the inmate's last name. Visitors are encouraged to schedule visits carefully. Inmates must pre-approve any potential visitor. Only inmates who have been incarcerated for 7 days or more may receive visits. One 20 minute video visit is allowed per visiting week (Wednesday through Sunday). Only two adults and two children are allowed per visit. If pre-approved, contact visits may be scheduled the last Friday of the month. Visitors must be checked-in 20 minutes prior to the end time to receive visits.
